Omar was born in Christchurch, New Zealand and obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago University. After graduating, he worked in New Zealand before moving to London, where he gained valuable skills in emergency care, fixed and removable prosthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and endodontics.
In 2005, he completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and was accepted into the Specialist Training Program at King’s College London. During his time at King’s, he conducted groundbreaking research investigating tooth tissue loss following root canal treatment and post space preparation using three-dimensional imaging.
After completing his specialist training, Omar moved to Sydney where he established his private practice: Specialist Endo Crows Nest, located on Sydney’s North Shore.
Omar has a passion for teaching dentists and dental students through hands-on courses and his social media platforms.
For his contributions to the international dental community, he was inducted into the International College of Dentists in 2019.
In 2021, he co-created the EndoPrep smartphone app — designed to raise global standards in endodontics. That same year, he was also made a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
