Kar Mun Chan

Kar Mun was born in Hong Kong and completed her secondary schooling in Sydney. She graduated from Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney. She worked as a dental officer in the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and private practices prior to her specialisation in paediatric dentistry.

 In 2003 Kar Mun completed a 3-year postgraduate training from the University of Hong Kong and wrote her research thesis on Dentine Bonding - Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy studies. She moved to Melbourne in the same year to take up the position of Dental Registrar at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne. In 2005 Kar Mun was awarded a NHMRC scholarship to undertake research studies in a genetic condition - Dentinogenesis Imperfecta.  She also held the position of Clinical Demonstrator at the Dental School of University of Melbourne for final year students.

In 2006 Kar Mun established her private practice, Kiddies Dental Care that today has expanded to 3 specialist paediatric dental clinics located in Essendon and Werribee. Kar Mun has two children in high school and is working as a full time clinician. Her passion is mentoring young clinicians and sharing with them the joys and challenges in how to support paediatric patients and their families.
